We install, repair, and replace concrete for homeowners, builders, and developers, with proper preparation and clear communication.
Charlotte concrete faces 43 inches of rain a year, slow-draining Piedmont red clay, and winter freeze-thaw nights, so we start with a compacted base and reinforcement, then correct thickness, drainage, and joints.
As lifelong Charlotte residents, we build concrete that lasts decades. Let us help with your next project!
Charlotte Concrete Services also serves Matthews, Mint Hill, Huntersville, Cornelius, Davidson, Concord, Kannapolis, Harrisburg, Gastonia, Belmont, Mooresville, Indian Trail, Waxhaw, Weddington, Pineville & more.

Driveways are 4 inches thick for cars, 5 to 6 inches for trucks and RVs, with rebar or wire mesh and saw-cut control joints.
We grade and compact a gravel base over slow-draining Piedmont clay for new concrete driveways, gravel conversions, replacements, extensions, and stamped borders.
Most residential concrete walkways are 3 to 5 feet wide and 4 inches thick, with a broom finish for traction.
We add stamped borders, curves, or color, and replace sections lifted by willow oak roots.

A concrete patio is a flat, low maintenance space for dining and entertaining, square or custom shaped, in broom, stamped, colored, or exposed aggregate finishes.
Patios slope away from the house for drainage. Weighing options? See our concrete patio vs. pavers comparison.
Hairline cracks, spalling, and chipped edges can be repaired. Replacement on a corrected base suits:

We form and pour steps and porches with consistent riser heights and tread depths for safety and code.
Choose broom, stamped, or colored finishes, bullnose edges, and handrail anchors. Crumbling steps on older Dilworth homes get rebuilt on proper footings.
We pour residential concrete slabs reinforced for their load: shed, carport, HVAC, generator, hot tub, and addition slabs.
A filled hot tub needs a far thicker pad than a shed; permitted slabs follow approved plans.

We pour slab-on-grade foundations, stem wall footings, and pier footings for additions, garages, decks, and porches. Wet red clay loses bearing strength, so concrete footings follow engineered plans and inspections.
On Charlotte's sloped lots, a concrete retaining wall holds back soil and creates flat space, with reinforcement and footings sized to its height, gravel backfill, and a perforated base drain.

Pool decks must be slip-resistant and cool underfoot. We pour and replace concrete pool decks in broom, stamped, exposed aggregate, or cool-deck finishes, sloped away from the coping with expansion joints.
Garage and basement floors take vehicle weight, moisture, and oil. We pour, replace, and repair them, slope garage floors to the door, and lay a vapor barrier under basement slabs for Charlotte's humid climate.

Resurfacing bonds a polymer-modified overlay to concrete that is stable but worn, stained, or pitted, after crack repair.
Leveling raises a sunken slab without replacement, on sidewalks, driveways, patios, and steps. We drill small holes, pump material underneath to lift the slab, and patch them.
Mudjacking uses cement slurry, polyurethane leveling uses foam, and both need sound concrete.

We size commercial slabs to the load: 4 to 6 inches for light use, 6 to 8 inches or more for forklifts and racking, and 3,000 to 5,000 PSI mixes.
Commercial floors get rebar, mesh, or fiber, a trowel, broom, polished, or sealed finish, and control joints.
Piedmont clay softens when wet, so we pour slab-on-grade foundations for retail and light industrial buildings, spread footings for columns, continuous footings for exterior walls, and grade beams over weak soil to engineered drawings and local code.

Concrete parking lots outlast asphalt, skip sealcoating, and reflect heat in Charlotte summers. We design each concrete parking lot for its vehicles, with subbase compaction, stormwater slopes, reinforced pavement, joints, striping, and ADA spaces. Entrance aprons take heavy turning and braking.
Loading dock aprons and slabs get heavier reinforcement and thicker sections for forklift traffic, dumpster pads of 6 to 8 inches resist cracking from waste trucks, and equipment pads are sized to each unit with anchor bolts.

Commercial walkways must meet ADA slope, width, and texture rules, so we build ramps, landings, detectable warning surfaces, standard and mountable curbs, and curb and gutter to match.
We inspect first and match the fix: routing and sealing for cracks, patching or resurfacing for spalling, lifting or panel replacement for sunken slabs, and full replacement for widespread damage. Single sidewalk panels get swapped to remove trip hazards, and we phase work so you stay open.

Stamped concrete is pressed with textured mats to mimic brick, slate, flagstone, cobblestone, or wood plank for far less than the real thing, on patios, pool decks, driveways, and borders. Color and release agents add depth, and a sealer, renewed every two to three years, blocks stains and UV fading.
Colored concrete has pigment mixed in before the pour, so color runs full depth and chips show less; color hardeners give brighter shades and a harder surface. Choose tan, charcoal, terra cotta, or earth brown from samples viewed outdoors.

Staining colors cured concrete in basements, garages, and commercial interiors. Acid stains react for mottled earth tones; water-based stains give a wider, uniform range. We clean so color absorbs evenly, then seal.
When concrete is sound but tired, resurfacing costs far less than replacement. We pressure wash, repair cracks, and apply a bonded overlay that hides stains, pitting, and light spalling.

A quality sealer limits water absorption, oil stains, wear, and fading. We pressure wash, patch chips, and apply a penetrating or film-forming sealer; reseal every 2 to 3 years, sooner in full sun.
We find the cause first (see why concrete cracks in Charlotte). Cracks under 1/8 inch get flexible filler, cracks over 1/4 inch are routed and sealed with polyurethane, and sunken sections are leveled or replaced.

Site preparation matters most: Piedmont red clay drains slowly, so a compacted base, drainage, control joints, and rebar or mesh help concrete handle 43 inches of annual rain and freeze-thaw nights.
Consultation & Estimate
We review goals, budget, soil, drainage, and slope, then give an itemized written estimate.
Permits & Preparation
We handle CDOT driveway permits and NC 811 locates, then excavate, grade, compact, and set forms.
Reinforcement, Pour & Finish
Rebar or mesh goes in, then we place and finish in your chosen texture, cut control joints, and never pour below 40°F or ahead of rain.
Curing & Walkthrough
We protect the curing slab and walk the job with you; see how long before driving on new concrete.
